Sculpting is an artistic outlet for me, and I put my whole heart into
every one of my creations. My artistry is self-taught and each sculpt
that I do takes an eternity to create.

Polymer clay is durable and strong and has been used in doll making for years by
doll artists. Having the look of real skin tone, and the feel of porcelain, it is the
perfect compound for sculpting art dolls. More shatter and chip resistant than
ceramic or porcelain, it is the perfect medium for sculptures.

Most of the "babies" that I make are tiny: under 2 inches.  Being very detail
oriented, my continuing goal is realism. My tools are extremely small.
The tools I use the most are: a very small sewing needle
and a wet paint brush with about 9 hairs in it.

In combination with very strong reading glasses, a lamp with high magnification
is used so that I get every detail right. No molds of any kind are ever used.

A special technique for color is applied before curing to give
baby's skin that healthy baby glow.

My full sculpts usually have a bit of hair applied atop their
tiny head. I favor Tibetan Lambs hair and the tiny locks are applied
individually.  I gloss the lips, toenails and fingernails after curing.
This gives each doll a realistic appearance.

For Bundle Babies, the head, neck and torso are sculpted. No limbs are attached,
and the soft swaddling layers are then permanently fastened to the clay.
Therefore, the bundle baby's blankets do not come off.

My art dolls cannot be duplicated.
They are truly original "One Of A Kind" (OOAK).
Every single one begins as a ball of clay, to which
imagination is added, with tender care and a lot of patience and time.

With each art doll, you receive a signed certificate of
authenticity.  My full sculpts are also signed, numbered and dated.
All hats, blankets and pacifiers are handmade by me as well.

Having always loved children...especially babies, I look
to real photos of babies as a guide while I sculpt.
I am truly inspired by my t
hree grandchildren!
